I have been talking to a girl who told me she’s never been in a relationship and is pretty reserved.

She laughs a lot at my jokes, opens up about her fears, and even asked me to go to a movie with her. But when I made a small flirty comment, she immediately shut it down, told me she doesn’t like that, and said she sees me as “different and respectful.” After that, she kept chatting normally, was playful again, and even ended the night with “sweet dreams.”

She seems interested but cautious. I don’t want to push her boundaries or mess this up.

My question: why would she ask me out and keep investing in me but avoid flirting? Does this sound like she’s actually interested, or just keeping me as a safe friend? And how do I move things forward slowly without scaring her off?

TL;DR: Girl has never dated, is reserved but laughs at my jokes, opens up, and even asked me to a movie. She avoids flirting though. Is she actually interested or just being friendly, and how do I move things forward without scaring her?
