I'm in middle school. Graduated from elementary this year. During my time in 6th grade, I basically only had 1 true friend, who's my bestie(best friend of all time).

We were never in the same class, so we met by being both pretty good at English, being English Ambassadors and one extracurricular. One time during the extracurricular activity, I asked for her phone number so I could text her in whatsapp. That happened six months ago. Since then, we've basically texted each other every day.

She's the only friend I know who's never disappeared, (mainly cause we have each other's whatsapp) and we've never actually argued properly. We just joke around and say some bad words to each other.

The problem is, somehow, she's my only friend.

You may be wondering, why do I have a friend from a random extracurricular, but don't really have a friend in my own class? I don't know, that's why I'm writing this, but this is what I've thought of:

  1. I wasn't social enough. It's in the title, but it doesn't make sense since I got a friend from an extracurricular, who was ironically, my academic rival. Before we became friends, we didn't like each other at all.

2a. My classmates aren't my type. I had 23 other classmates. 6 of them were/are a friend group, and for some reason, they ban ppl who aren't from the friend group. That means you can't play with them when they're together. 1 of them is nicer and he sits in front of me, so naturally, we talk more, but I wouldn't consider us friends.

2b. There are 8 other girls. 2 of them are in that friend group. There's a trio. Technically, I'm the 4th member of the 'trio'. There was a previous 4th member who I'll talk about later, who was kicked out even though she was never told. The 'trio' just stopped talking to her. As the second 4th member, I'm the backup friend, just in case a girl from the OG trio left. They never said it, but I know that's true.

2c. The previous 4th member had so much drama, she would have more drama than all of the other girls combined, if you didn't count the drama they had with her. That explains it. There are 2 other girls I haven't talked about. 1 basically only talks to the boys. The other lowkey just stopped talking to me.

2d: The boys are too crazy. That's it.

If you think some things are a bit unclear, you can ask, and I'll try my best to answer without revealing too much information.
