(Continuation from Pt.1)

By this point you will understand whether you and the person(s) you are engaging with; have a connection or not. Sometimes the interaction is small, sometimes it is a one time thing, other times you may have made a friend or met a partner. Whatever the scenario all parties must be respectful of each other’s wishes by respecting boundaries, paying attention to one another and meeting each other at a pace that is right for both if both if not all of you.

Social cues. Now bear with me here because I’m still figuring this one out myself. A social cue is where somebody is actively leading the interaction in a certain direction. That might be to the door, or to the dance floor. In any case body language and tonality set the pace for where the interaction is going to go. Body language indicates what a person is trying to tell you and pointing you in a direction. Someone’s tone of voice will tell you exactly what people are expressing.

Combining these you have just completed your first social interaction, well done 👏!

Finally experience. Experience is what you gain after any social interaction good or bad. If you have read the tone, listened to the body language and social cues and it doesn’t go well. You’ve already made the first step by engaging or even reading this post. You showed up for yourself, even me by giving me the time of day.

I duly hope that my explanation of social interactions is beneficial to you and I wish you a wonderful experience.
