In the UK we have many, many different ways to describe the slightly-less-cold wet stuff falling from the sky, most of which do not include the word 'rain'.
What's most popular? How weird does it get? Do different areas of the UK have regional variations? Can we rank them by severity of the rainfall? I want to hear them all.
Here's a few to kick off with:
1. Pissing it down (obviously)
2. Chucking it down
3. Drizzling
4. Pouring down
5. Nice weather for ducks
Edit: Originally I started this post with "Just as Inuit cultures have many different words for 'snow'", but it's been rightly pointed out to me that is a bit of a misrepresentation, so I've removed it. Instead let's focus on bemoaning some proper British weather.
