I’ve been dating my girlfriend for around 5 months. We usually have daily calls or video calls, often lasting an hour or more. The issue is that after we’ve talked through everything, there are times when I genuinely don’t have anything else to say.

But when I tell her that, she gets upset. Sometimes she’ll go into a rage, accusing me of not putting in effort, or that I don’t care enough to keep the conversation going. To me, it feels like I’m expected to constantly perform or entertain her, and if I can’t, she lashes out.

This doesn’t happen every day, but usually once a week—especially when she’s already upset about something else. In those moments, she insists I “say something” to distract her, but I honestly don’t have endless things to pull out of thin air.

I end up feeling drained and pressured, instead of enjoying our calls.

Is this normal ? Shall I confront her ? Or breakup this feels like abuse now.

TL;DR: GF insists on me always having something to say during daily 1‑hour calls. If I don’t, she gets upset or angry. I feel like I’m being forced to “perform” instead of having natural conversations.
