I found out my wife had recorded an argument we had in our room and shared it with a group of friends without my permission. She also lied about it directly to my face until she had to acknowledge the lie in the face of obvious evidence.

Her original rationale was she just wanted a record of the argument. Now over a year later she apparently decided to share it with her friends because she wanted to see if other couples fought like we do. However my wife is the type of person that presents stuff very one sided and avoids communicating critical context.

she has a therapist and we have done couples counseling and despite all this she somehow didn’t think those avenues were good enough to asses our relationship, so she had to share an argument recording. It’s also illegal in our state and from my perspective a huge breach of trust.

When I asked why she thought this was okay she basically was like people talk to their friends about stuff – continually failing to address the recording and delay.

It feels like she might be conducting a smear campaign for if we end up divorcing. While it could be something else it feels like a possibility.

Anyone run into something similar?
