I (F21) am visiting Positano in italy for a few days then leaving. As I was walking down the stone steps a handsome guy (M30?) approached me and asked if I wanted a picture in front of the view. My phones quality wasn’t the best so he offered to take it on his phone (which in hindsight I see it was probably an attempt at sending it to me and having my contact). I kindly refused as to not be a burden and he hesitated as if wanting to talk more but I acted a little shy so he ended up leaving. The thing is, my friends were behind me and the guy watching the whole interaction and they said afterwards that the guy kept looking back at me as I walked away as if contemplating if he should go back. The guy seems to live in the area or work at the hotel where he stopped me. When I heard that he kept looking back I tried to find him again but couldn’t. I’m really interested in finding him or getting to know his name, I’m a hopeless romantic in that sense but also the type of person that likes to grab an opportunity by the neck. I don’t really care how embarrassing it might be. Since I know the hotel he works at I want to find a way to contact him either via email or letter, but I don’t know a respectful or efficient way to do this. I know this is extremely unconventional, but the moment was too perfect and the regret is killing me. Even if realistically it goes nowhere, I’d like to know who he is. What would be a good way to approach this?
