Hello, I’ve (22F) recently been put in a situation I’ve never experienced before — my boyfriend (24M) won’t touch me sexually.
For context, we have been dating only about four months now. A little over a month ago I got a UTI that progressed into a kidney infection and was sick for about two weeks. After that happened, he hasn’t sexually touched me. Everything else has been fine though, he’s still physically affectionate in other ways. I was assuming he was exhausted from work or something as he constantly says that he is and we only see each other on weekends. This weekend he finally told me that the reason he hasn’t had sex with me is because he is scared because he doesn’t want to hurt me again (get another UTI).
Even though I’ve assured him this just happens sometimes and I don’t blame him for it, he still can’t get out of the funk. I feel like it hurts me more to avoid sexual contact for so long especially so early into a relationship. Am I also wrong for assume there could be other reasons he won’t tell me? He said work has been stressful lately but this just all feels so weird to me. I’m not sure if anyone has experienced this before or has advice on what to do — I’ll take any opinions
