I recently attended my cousins wedding celebration, where I learned that the wife-to-be would NOT be assuming my cousins/our families last name, and quite honestly, I was taken aback, shocked, and mildly disgusted. I may be more traditional and conservative in my thinking, but I believe that changing the last name to match the mans is a sign of your commitment to the matrimony (not the ONLY sign of commitment, but a major one)
