I've been without internet (it just stopped working) for almost a week now, and my confirmed BT engineer appointment yesterday (10-12 slot) was a complete disaster. I waited for it 5 days.
The engineer didn't even ring my doorbell and later claimed there was "no parking" (there is plenty of parking right outside my building). I only got one call from him at 9:08, which was outside my appointment window. Then he just left and never came back.
I took a day off work to be home for this, and later BT told me the appointment was cancelled. At first they said they'd rearrange for the same day, then told me the earliest was 18 August. Now they've changed it again to
20 August!
So I'll end up being without internet for nearly two weeks, forced to take another day off work, and I'm still chasing them.
Has anyone else dealt with BT giving false reports like this? And is there any way to actually push them to send an engineer sooner? This whole experience feels unacceptable.
Will BT actually give compensation in cases like this?
Should I be pushing for it? I already missed a day of work because of the failed appointment, and now I'll have to miss another one on the new date.
