Hey everyone, I’m 20 (maybe 21 by the time I travel) and planning my first solo holiday. I’m obsessed with futuristic cities — I’m talking skyscrapers, cyberpunk vibes, insane architecture, neon lights, and tech-forward living, not just flashy colors. I want somewhere that looks straight out of the future, physically, with advanced designs for buildings, hotels, apartments, and public spaces.

I’m leaning towards Asia — specifically Tokyo or Osaka in Japan, or Shanghai/Shenzhen in China. I’ve also thought about South Korea or Singapore, maybe even Dubai. The goal is the full “futuristic experience,” but I need it to be beginner-friendly: safe for solo travelers, not insanely expensive, and easy to navigate for someone who doesn’t speak the language.

Practical stuff matters too — what apps should I use for money, travel, translation? What happens if my phone dies? I want a smooth first-time experience without getting lost. I’m flying from the UK, and I’m flexible on timing, but I want to get the most mind-blowing, cyberpunk-style city experience possible.

So, if you’ve been to any of these cities or know what a first-time traveler should do, I’d love suggestions. Specifically: which city is the ultimate mix of futuristic architecture, technology, and beginner-friendly travel? And what tips would make my first solo trip stress-free but unforgettable?
