Lads, just had an absolute mare today. Told gaffer I was injured to skip the match (was hungover). Forgot I'd posted Instagram stories from the pub last night. He follows me. Getting rinsed in the group chat. Anyone else got any locker room confessions they need to get off their chest? What's the worst/funniest thing you've done or seen? Need some stories to make me feel better about this disaster 😂

  2. When defending a corner an opposition player pulled my shorts down just as the ball was kicked. Sadly no VAR in those days. We probably thrashed them though, as we were a bunch of 18-20 year olds playing fully grown men. When I say fully grown, I mean bellies 🙂 great days.

  3. Playing a top of the table clash. Both teams were all mates from the same school or played together elsewhere so I knew all 26 odd players.

    We were hammering them and I already had a hatrick but none of that mattered.

    I go back to defend a corner, cross comes in, I jump up to clear it, one of their team gives me a tug on the shirt which throws me off balance and I end up scoring the biggest worldy of an overhead kick into my own top corner you have ever seen.

    This was 30 years ago and I still get reminded of it by team mates and opponents alike. I blame the ref. Blatant foul but he felt sorry for them!

  4. Subbed on, gave away a penalty for a handball that hit my chest. Not that big of a deal we were 7 nil up. Their next attack, pulled my glute. Subbed myself off. I was on the pitch for less than 10mins 😅
