A lot of people believe there will be no state pension to retire with by the time we get to 70, house prices will continue to balloon out of affordability, that climate change will continue to worsen and destabilise the world, and that ever deepening inequality will likely mean a very worse future for all but the richest. Many of us believe that life for each generation will continue to be harder than the previous as well (as is it has been for millennials, Gen Z, and soon Gen Alpha).
With an outlook like this (if you do have this), how can you knowingly bring someone into this world? Is it not selfish? Or is there, in the back of your mind, hope that things might actually just get better and you're comfortable rolling the dice even against the odds?
