I work in the legal profession (Not a barrister but court facing) after interest was sparked in it almost 20 years ago.
What inspired me in this line of work you might ask – was it a role model growing up? A scandalous crime reported in the media? Nope. It was Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow.
Around 20 years ago, Tracy Barlow, my favourite character because she was such a nasty cow, bludgeoned her boyfriend to death with an ornament for cheating on her. Tracy is brought to trial and then found guilty which devastated me. But watching the trial and Tracy’s defence fall apart sparked an interest in the courtroom which has now followed me into adult life, even doing work experience at the local court a few years later. Ridiculous to say aloud really but when I think back, that is where it all started.
Wondered if anyone had anything similar – or as equally embarrassing as this.
