How do you feel about the shift in fashion from high-waisted jeans toward mid- and low-rise styles? What’s your take on this trend?

  1. They can take my high-waisted jeans from my cold dead hands, that’s how I feel about it.

  2. I’m going to wear what I have until they’re rags. I don’t get people who buy new clothes just because the style changes. Waste of money

  3. i feel like low waisted are easier to combine and they look good on me. Mid-low waist tho, not necessarily super low. I wish a trend didnt mean the rest of styles disappear from stores, specially cause some of us dont really adscribe to current trends all the time, so options being limited to none is a bummer, specially when it comes to jeans cause even thrifting can be hard especiallu if youve got a fuller or curvier figure.

  4. Yes, pleaaase!

I never liked high-waisted jeans (or skirts). Maybe it’s having grown up during a low rise phase, but I don’t like the feeling of them on my lower body. (And my tiny ass looks better in low rise jeans with small pockets.)

  5. Can we have a happy medium? I’m too short waisted for high rise, and low rise makes me feel like my pants are falling off. Can we just get jeans that hit just below the belly button, please?

  6. Please God no. I barely made it through the early 2000s with my ass crack covered. My body wasn’t made for them then and God knows it’s not made for them now.

I’m going to wear these Gloria Vanderbilt high-waisted jeans until they are in tatters.

  7. Meh. Trends are cyclic, well get back to high waisted again, im going to keep buying and wearing whatever I feel like

  8. Happened just in time for me. I was 20 when it was super low rise Jean from the 2000s and I looked great. Now I have my stomach fat I need the high rise cover. I can’t wear the straight leg bc my butt too big? I stopped wearing jean for now

  9. Younger people can have their own ED’s and body dysmorphia. I spent a small fortune getting rid of mine but they wanna go there? I don’t really care. Imma wear what Imma wear.

    I’ve earned it.

  10. I barely notice trouser trends, since I only buy new jeans every couple of years. Style-wise I prefer high waists, but especially with shorts in the summer a lower waist is more comfortable.

  11. Im 30. Low rise jeans were my only option in high school. My body grew into a low rise shape. Then they took away all the low rise and said thwyre only gonna sell jeans that go up to your belly button. My undies are low rise. So theres a weird roll between my jeans waist and my undies waist. Finally found a style of high rise combined with crop tops that looks great on me, and now theyre taking away the high rise and telling me i shouldve kept all my low rise.

Just stfu and make both so we can just choose.

  12. Nope. Didn’t like low rise the first time round and still don’t like them now. Also side note – skinny jeans are better than baggy shite!

  13. I think low rise looks terrible on almost everyone. It’s so unflattering for most body types.

  14. I don’t pay attention to trends so I didn’t notice. I just buy what’s comfortable to me, which generally are men’s jeans lol I never really like high rise or low rise jeans, though.

  15. There is 0% chance I’m ever going back to low rise anything. They have no idea the battle that we fought to have good fitting pants in all sizes.

  16. High waist is still in fashion. It’s just high waisted baggy and not high waisted skinny.

  17. Wait—are you telling me mid and low rise jeans are back?

Listen, ladies, take it from An Old. All y’all have been wearing the same jeans I wore in high school in 1980s.

Just keep all of your pants. Maybe box them up by rise. Because in 10-15 years or so, they’ll be back in style.

  18. I spent my youth in low rise jeans. Never again. I am wearing my mom jeans to the grave, thank you.

  19. I’m happy about it. I’m 5’ tall and even petite high waisted jeans come up so far that it’s ridiculous. I’m almost 50, so I’m not looking for super low rise, but just ones that sit on my hips would be great.

  20. It’s just how the trend cycle is, things go in and out of fashion after some time. Personally I won’t be shifting to anything tho. Low-rise pants make my long torso look even longer, I like the optical illusion of longer legs that high-waisted pants give me.

  21. meh. I’ve been through this fashion cycle before. I’ll just wear whichever ones I want regardless of what’s fashionable or not.

  22. I don’t do trends, I wear what looks and feels best on my body, and for me, that’s extra high rise!

  23. I’m fine with it because high waisted doesn’t look very flattering on my body type. My real wish is that we could just have regular access to all the different types of rises instead of moving through trend cycles.

  24. Honestly I tend to go for high waisted most of the time since I’m pretty insecure about my body. Not sure I could ever rock low-rise myself, but I really admire women who can pull off either (or both) effortlessly.

  25. Sad cause i love the low rise look, but don’t have the body for it 🥲 so I was very happy with high waisted jeans

  26. No way i’m going back to showing half of my ass in those low rise jeans:D

  27. I have no opinion because I’m going to be wearing high waisted jeans to my funeral and there’s nothing anybody can do about it.
Low-rise jeans do NOTHING for my body and I’m not changing it based on trends. I can’t think of the last time I even tried on pants that were anything less than mid rise.

  28. I am a mid rise person. I am short so all that high waisted stuff hits wrong on me.

  29. Are we back to low waisted jeans? What a relief! I thought we learned our lesson about mom jeans in the 90s.

  30. I don’t feel like muffin topping or giving a plummer’s crack in low waisted jeans. Keep that shit away from me

  31. The current “low waist” jeans are what would have been considered “mid waist” back in the day, so it’s not the traumatic experience we remember from the 2000s.

Actual low waist jeans are tough because while I don’t think thinness is a requirement for them to look good, you do need to have longer legs or you’d look kind of unbalanced.

  32. Who says we have to shift? My body is not comfortable in anything less than high rise. Mid or low rise pants make me feel like my pants are falling off. No thanks.

  33. Awful. Awful awful awful. Hated them the last time when I was skinny and big bummed, hate them even more this time now that I’m middle aged, sporting a gut and an even bigger arse.

  34. I stopped trying to keep up with trends around 35. I’ll keep wearing what works for my body

  35. Thank god! High waisted pants give me sensory issues. I can’t have anything tight around my stomach area. I haven’t been able to find a good pair of jeans in years because everything was high waisted. Now the struggle is finding skinny jeans. I refuse to wear anything baggy, as I find baggy jeans extremely unflattering.

  36. I refuse. I won’t go back. I’m too old. I suffered through low jeans and baby doll tees in college and everyone saw more of me than they or I wanted to and now I’m 40 and you can’t make me do it again.

  37. Hip huggers were huge in the early 00s so I’m not shocked they’re making a comeback; that said, I will *not* be indulging lol

  38. They’re not low rise enough. Todays “low rise” is just mid rise. Gimme something below the hips with a 1inch zipper you cowards!

  39. Finally. As someone who has a body type that suits low-waisted exposure, long overdue. Though I agree, happy medium of variety would be best.
