My dog is great with smaller/same size dogs but gets incredibly nervous around bigger dogs like mastiffs ect. With all that in mind, i choose to keep her on the lead and be cautious about dogs that she interacts with.
I've been going a new park and seen so many dogs off the leash just running amuk and treating it like it's there own personal play area. These dogs also have poor recall and takes like 5 minutes of the owner screaming for the dog to come back.
I've literally had to pick my dog up bc a mastiff come running over to her at top speed to sniff ect. Good for you if you're dog is friendly but it doesn't have to meet every dog they see especially if that dog is leashed.
Surely if your dog is off leash then it should be trained to not approach another dog till you've given the go ahead. Or am i the problem here since my dog isn't keen on larger breeds.
