My therapist says that I am too pessimistic and it’s having a negative effect on my life. I’ve always been that way as far as I can remember and it’s just how I am. I said that I look around at life and nothing ever goes the way people want it to, whether it be their job relationships or anything. Something always goes wrong.
I have tried in the past to be more positive and it never seems to have much effect. Is being pessimistic and realistic about the way life is really that bad? I just figured that everyone had come to the same conclusion that life sucks and it’s something to be endured until it’s over.
Does being optimistic really have an impact? How can I change my mentality permanently?
