Has your country gifted the world any classical musicians?

We were mainly overshadowed by mainland Europe when it came to classical music, but we did have quite a few composers: Purcell, RV Williams, Britten, Elgar, etc.
Gustav Holst, in particular, is one of my favourites because he was one of the few composers that was a catalyst to bridging the gap between classical and film music. You can hear a lot of his influences in the works of John Williams, Hans Zimmer, etc.
All in all, the British music industry is more iconic for its innovation and modernity rather than its heritage.
