Hi everyone,
I’ve recently connected with someone I really like, and things feel different from my usual friendships. We’ve spent time together, shared some meaningful moments, and exchanged friendly physical touches (like hugs and shoulder taps). They’ve also done some thoughtful things for me, like helping out during a tough time and I've let them use my consuite card at a convention since an injury stopped me from staffing.
They even used a heart emoji in one message, which felt significant to me. and have used a purple heart to react to another message. We chat regularly but they haven’t directly talked about any romantic feelings, and I’m not sure if I’m reading too much into the signs or if they might feel the same way but are waiting for me to bring it up.
I’m considering waiting about six weeks before sharing my feelings in person, but I’m not sure if that’s too long or too short.
So, my questions are:
- How do you tell if someone is interested beyond friendship based on actions and communication?
- Is it normal to wait weeks before expressing feelings, or should I be more direct sooner?
- How do you avoid misreading signals and protect yourself emotionally?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
