Hi from Canada!

I’ve really been missing paprika chips since I visited Europe years ago and recently a small snack shop in my city said they would bring some in if I let them know what I wanted.

So boast about your paprika chips and why they are better than the other countries and why we should order them above all others.

Bonus points if they are paprika and onion chips. Also if you have other weird flavours let me know, I’d be willing to try them.

They did get me Walkers Punchy Paprika and they are decent but not as good as what I remember eating.

  1. the paprika Lay’s used to be the best but since the pandemic it doesn’t taste the same, I think they’ve replaced their procedure entirely with something closer to Crunchips

when it comes to our local Polish chips I guess Wiejskie Ziemniaczki brand is good

  2. I live in Switzerland, I have to answer Switzerland (Zweifel Paprika), otherwise I would be expelled from the country with a trebuchet by midnight.

  3. You take Tesco finest thick cut wavy potato chips (just salty) and add your preferred paprika spice, for me its “zitavska paprika” sweet, no spice.

  4. I think Lay’s Oven baked roasted paprika chips are THE best, they have a ton of flavor but they’re not too greasy. I’m not an expert though. This Dutch guy (snackspert) has a whole video (in Dutch unfortunately, but the ranking is in the caption) about different (regular, so not oven baked) paprika chips brands. 5. I thought Hungary was the most paprika country in general, but what about their chips?

  6. Paprika is the most popular crisps variety in Germany, and the most ubiquitous brand here would be Funny Frisch. Plenty of other good ones around as well, but most not that widely available (except Lays, maybe, but they are not necessarily known for their paprika flavoured crisps around here). Also plenty of good own brand stuff sold in supermarkets, but you won’t be able to get those in Canada. If you want to try and find some German paprika crisps it’s probably helpful to know that they are often not called paprika falvoured here, it’s pretty common to call them Ungarisch (which is German for Hungarian)

  7. Wait, is Paprika not a popular chips flavour in North America ? Crazy.

As for France, our best chips brand is definitely Bret’s, but I actually don’t think I’ve tasted their Paprika chips, if they have any. My go-to for Paprika would be Pringles.

  8. You don’t have paprika chips in Canada? There’s bell peppers in North America, no?

Anyway, the first one that comes to mind is Pringles Paprika.

  9. Croky Bolognese is by far the best traditional chips (flavour) there is… If I would ever support the invasion of Belgium it is for acquiring and nationalising Croky and making sure it will remain the same for ever.
