I've gone on 8 dates with this guy over 3 months (we couldn't see each other for a month after our 2nd date due to both of us traveling). We've already established we like each other and aren't seeing others, but we're not official yet. We've also not had PIV sex yet, but have gone to 3rd base and done a sleepover.

Except for the month we were traveling, our dates have been weekly, planned a few days to a week in advance. Last week, we saw each other twice. He planned a nice date on Thursday, and then at the end asked if he could see me again before his business trip this week. We ended up meeting on Sunday; it was our first relatively impromptu date. He told me he was coming back Friday (today) and would set up something then. We've been texting everyday this week, so I trust we'll see each other again, but I'm used to scheduling dates further in advance so it does throw me off a bit that we don't have any actual weekend plans yet. I am aware though that for most couples, you eventually just start hanging out and don't need to formally plan everything. So I guess my question is, at what point do couples start to become more lax about planning? And does that mean you just sort of hit up your partner whenever?
