When you started trying for a baby, how long did it take you to be successful?

I started trying when I was 20 and it took us about a year.
Once š took out the IUD had sex once a few days later before going on a trip to visit family for a few weeks. Came back pregnant.
7 months the first time, four months the second once we were really intentional about TTC around my ovulating
2 months at 28. Tried again twice in 30ās with no luck
3 months (was an ectopic pregnancy), 2 months (was a miscarriage), 1 month (healthy baby boy)
5 months the first time, 2 months the second time.
Took us 11 months. I had a fertility appointment booked and then 3 days before it, I got a positive test. That’s the way of things I guess!
9 months, I had problems with my cycle after pills.
3 months for my period to come back after coming off the pill, then the first try after that.
Almost a year
First baby: over 2 years. I went to a fertility test that revealed I had a blocked fallopian tube but thanks to a Hysterosalpingography (HSG) it was unblocked and I got pregnant within 2 weeks.Ā
The 2nd baby was 2 months of trying.Ā
Less than a month. Both times, I stopped taking the pill and got pregnant before I had a period. I had my kids at ages 30 and 33.
Tried for about 2 years, then FINALLY got a Dr. to take my concerns and complaints of pain seriously. Had surgery for the endometriosis Iād suspected I had since I was 14, then was pregnant within about 5 months.
6 months. I was underweight, so I was told to get 2-3 kg more weight. I did, and soon was pregnant.
First time for the first kid. Second time we tried for 18 months with not even a single positive test despite tracking ovulation. We gave up and settled for being one and done.
7 years and counting
Two months. I genuinely thought it would take a lot longer.
2-3 months all 3 times. I was on the pill prior to all 3 attempts as well.
I got pregnant on the first try. Once we decided to try I came off the pill and timed my cycle. I guess I’m better at timing than I thought. I knew I was pregnant because about 4 weeks later I was craving a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich with…strawberry jam. I made it, took a bite and then realized how weird it was. Sure enough, pregnant! š
FTM: We were fortunate in that I got pregnant within about 2 months (IUD removed in March, got pregnant in May) but had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. Once I was ready to try again, I was fortunate to get pregnant again in about 2 months of trying. I am being induced on just 8 days!
Since I mentioned miscarriage, I just want to share my perspective because it was so emotionally painful and easy to blame myself until I explained it to a 7 year old and felt somewhat healed by it (not in the context of my miscarriage, she was just asking in general). Sometimes the genetic material is just not there to make a baby. As I put it – some embryos just donāt have the full instruction manual and set of tools to build a whole human. I know thatās kind of obvious but it provided a lot of solace for me.
Edit to add I was tracking my ovulation very intentionally and I am 36
Almost a year for our one and only boy ā„ļø
One try with 3 pregnancies and one early miscarriage, 2 living children. We ātriedā for 3 months by just ending birth control and got nothing. Once I started using ovulation test strips and eating more protein, we were successful each time.
9 or 10 cycles at age 38-40 (my cycles are way longer than a month so it took 1.5 years).
I had 3 pregnancies. It took several months to get pregnant each time we tried.
Did not try with 5/7 pregnancies. The ones I did, it took 2 months and 4 months
Took out IUD in October. Not actively trying until May. Got pregnant in May.
First try. And I was 40.
We werenāt actively trying. We said āit if it happens, it happens.ā But we had been married 1 full year before we found out we were expecting and we have always used contraceptives minus the last 2 months or so
First go and I had endometriosis. Couldnāt believe it.
First baby – ātriedā like hell, following all the ovulation rules, legs up the wall, etc. took 11 months.
Second – much more casual. Itāll happen when it happens. 2 months.
Third – one drunk night lol
A month. We decided to try in July, and I got pregnant in August. I was almost 28.
Took about 8-9 months, it was about timing, my ovulation app kept telling me I was ovulating at a specific time which is when we tried but nothing happened. My cupping lady said she thinks I ovulate right after my period finishes, we tried then and got pregnant right away
1st baby in 20ās, 6-8 months.
2nd baby late 30ās. Years.
A few months the last time
9 months, but it was a chemical pregnancy. Next month another. Took a year total to conceive, I’m pregnant now. If I were to do it again I would start using opks and tracking temperature from the beginning, which I didn’t do originally.
A few months. Turns out I’m very fertile.
3 months for kid #1 and got pregnant 2nd month trying with kid #2 (still pregnant with this one).
Iāve heard that it isnāt hereditary but my mom also got pregnant pretty quickly.
Took 2 years, was due to start IVF that month and I got a positive test.
