I mean – you still have the numbers and the letters, so why not make it more interesting? I personally don't care, but I wouldn't be against it.

Random examples. There's a lot of variation (i.e not just one plate for one state as I understand).

Washington D.C. Taxation without representation.

Some New Mexico plates. The only state that adds USA to the plate so people wouldn't think they're from Mexico or smt.

Florida

Washington (state). Just a nice mountain and a slogan.

Or just write another state's name and check it out. https://www.google.com/search?q=alabama+registration+plate&sca_esv=6db176930c53557b&udm=2&sxsrf=AE3TifO8aRZRwzOAT1InRuHxcO0GOIp0kQ%3A1750858280793&ei=KPpbaNGZMMTPwPAPnN_lyQk&ved=0ahUKEwjRzYOv14yOAxXEJxAIHZxvOZkQ4dUDCBE&uact=5&oq=alabama+registration+plate&gs_lp=EgNpbWciGmFsYWJhbWEgcmVnaXN0cmF0aW9uIHBsYXRlMgQQABgeMgYQABgIGB5IjBpQwgRYzBhwAngAkAEAmAFtoAGFCqoBBDE0LjK4AQPIAQD4AQGYAgWgAskCwgIIEAAYBxgIGB6YAwDiAwUSATEgQIgGAZIHAzQuMaAHyQqyBwMzLjG4B8UCwgcFMC4zLjLIBw4&sclient=img

  1. I don’t have any problem with it, I think it would be fun. That said, I’d still opt for the plain white one with black lettering.

  2. Can’t help thinking that all the design on American plates are to find some point of distinction. Not much difference really between Maryland and Delaware. France and Germany though…

Also what language would the little tag line be in?
