  1. I watched a lot of sport yesterday! First the French Open men’s final, which was a great match, followed by the Nation’s League final, also a very good match…

Do you watch much live sport on TV? If so, which sports?

  2. I made Japanese milk bread yesterday. Normally I make sourdough with whole grain wheat, the and spelt, so compared to my usual bread this was almost cake. But it’s good. May be suitable for making grilled sandwiches (my usual bread definitely isn’t).

My friend was participating in a writing contest, and the prompt she got was horror, taking place on training grounds and featuring a speed bump. I decided I would also write one, although I never wrote horror before. I went a little over the 1000 words, but it was fun and I think also quite creepy, if maybe a little too overtly about some current goings on in the world. But I guess people writing about current events has been a thing as long as writing has been a thing.

I am now wondering if I should post it somewhere. It doesn’t really fit anything else that I write, so people may be a little surprised 😅 I may decide after having a reread.

  3. Ffs. Can I please just go one day, JUST, *ONE DAY*, without a major news event unfolding or a mad narcissist continuing to publicly unravel while he brings the whole country (world?) down with him? This shit is just so distracting and neverending. Please. Why can’t I go back to worrying about stupid inconsequential shit about my life again?

On another note, the other day I was in a town in the middle of Silicon Valley where there seemed to be TONS of people from Germany. Are German tech companies just not hiring right now?

  4. Polish is quite difficult to pronounce for people who don’t know the country or the language at all.

I was talking to a work colleague yesterday, who told me that she was going to visit Lods and Rocklaw next week….I helped her out with the pronunciation a little!

Not that I can speak Polish. But I know how to pronounce the letters, particularly place names.

Do you ever look at that kind of thing before you travel somewhere? How to pronounce various cities or sights in those cities?
