I would like to apologise to cities like Istanbul that I used to criticise for sprawling for miles and miles along the coast. I understand now.
The Bay Area’s geography is an absolute gift from God. You maximise the amount of coast per land area so everyone gets to be within almost walking distance from the coast and it’s absolutely beautiful. And the cold water also ensures that the season with the long days correlates perfectly with the season with the most comfortable weather to be outside in. Also, because this is murica, you can get away with only building a handful of train lines along the coast and still have one of the best public transport networks in the country.
I saw [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/1kzgzuu/was_at_a_restaurant_in_finland_today_and_well/) on the Eurovision subreddit. It’s hilarious and the Baltic sibling energy is adorable and so on, but… 4.50 for an espresso?? How rich are the Finns? I don’t remember it being that expensive (I must admit though, the couple of times I’ve been there I was mostly in the wilderness). Or maybe this is a super fancy cafe, I don’t know.
By now, most things that should be planted are planted. There’s just a couple more seedlings left in the greenhouse. This is a busy time for garden, but then most of the summer is just keeping on top of things. I saw that my broad beans have some aphids on them, but there’s also some fat ladybugs munching on the aphids, so I decided to just let nature be.
Was there any Eurovison? And what is that?
I saw some post about it while ago, no idea what it is about though, or when it is, or why “western” people care about is so much, when here no one does i guess nor heard about it? I see a lot of people from non-Slavic countries talking about it in comments etc., however here no on knows about it or in other Slavic countries, is this only some “Western” thing?
