in Europe? besides Ireland & the UK and status countries like malta there aren’t English speaking countries per say, Sweden, Denmark, Germany & Netherlands have impressively high rates of English speakers but they aren’t English speaking countries
You won’t get cheap rent in Ireland… You won’t a place to rent in Ireland. We are in the middle of a housing crisis. You will need bank statements, job contract, references etc. some estate agents ask for deposits to get on their list to view places to rent…not legal but what are you going to do. What a place is advertised for isn’t what you will get it for.. people end up bidding to rent a place and it’s goes for way more.
Buying in Ireland is equally as bad, new houses went up for sale a while ago and we people were sleeping in their cars to get on the list to buy the houses.
Look on daft.ie for places to rent or buy
South Africa, but I’m not sure you’d want to live there. Or is it not for yourself, but for your wife’s mother?😁
The British colonies on the Spanish coast mainly. But you’ll still want to learn Spanish. I think currently the cheapest places to live are the rural areas in the Southern countries (France, Spain, Italy, Greece) but in all cases I would always recommend learning the local language.
I’d imagine a slum in some impoverished English-speaking country in the Caribbean would have cheap rent, although that’s probably not what you mean.
On a serious note, all the developed English-speaking countries have a bit of a housing crisis at the moment, as far as I’m aware, so I don’t think you’d find that many places with cheap rent in any of them.
Malta, ireland and UK are the only countries where english is an official language.
Otherwise it’s better to learn the official language of the country when you want to move somewhere.
The UK, Ireland, and Malta, if you want places where English is (co)-official.
If you just want a lower cost of living, why not move to a smaller city in the UK to try to keep prices reasonable? There are some lovely cities out there: York, Coventry, Sheffield, Norwich, or maybe even try your luck with Birmingham.
None. Only UK and Ireland are English speaking and neither are cheap. Other countries are not English speaking.
Besides that, you cant randomly move to a country. You need a job and a house and without specific skills/qualifications/experience and without understanding of a local culture, language and having network its hard to a foreign country.
