My Hungarian wife and her mother noticed Americans are constantly sniffing their nose instead of blowing it with a napkin. I’m always reminded to blow my nose by my wife. She thinks it’s a disgusting habit and doesn’t understand why so many Americans do it. She says it’s not normal for people in Europe to sniff their nose. I’m wondering if it’s more of a Hungarian norm, central/Eastern European norm, or the whole of Europe norm. Also maybe it’s a norm from England that stayed with us. Does the UK commonly sniff their nose where as the rest of Europe doesn’t??
