A reading of Antanas Sniečkus' Wiki article inspired this question, since Sniečkus is supposedly still viewed warmly for his efforts at preventing Russification of Lithuania during the occupation period. I've also generally heard that many Hungarians feel that they had a better time under János Kádár than they do now under Viktor Orbán. Asking here coz previous attempts at finding an answer already given on Reddit kept linking me to overt commie subreddits, and I wanted to know the opinion of like, real people lol.

Also, this question moreso applies to the politicians that didn't live long enough to see the revolutions of 89/91, since it's pretty obvious why those people would be seen in a more positive light.
