My daughter just recently got this fascination with foreign currency and we've been collecting them and putting them in this coin book. We have a bunch of coins from various countries like Ireland, France, Czech Republic…etc, but we also have quite a few Euros.
I remember hearing something about Europe making a standard currency for all the countries, but being from the US, I had no reason to look more into it. Now though, I'm curious. From what I've read online, it looks like most of the countries adopted the Euro(about 20 or so?), but do they still accept their original currency?
So, for example, if I went to France and tried to pay with Francs, would that work or would I get turned away because they only use Euros?
