So in many European countries, there’s understandably a good chunk of people wanting to (or at least talking about) move to another European country with an overall better economy.

what struck me from talking to people is that it’s just ALWAYS Germany. Germany, Germany, Germany. Especially among ex-communist countries, but also Southern Europeans to a lesser extent.

This is not to say Germany is a bad choice for this! But why is it so often Germany specifically? Why not a Nordic country, or like, Belgium? Austria? What makes Germany stand out in these cultures?
