When I met my bf, I had been in a number of relationships with men who were very self confident and never had any issues with who my friends were (mix of men and women).
My current relationship is going on 4 years. A few months into our relationship I went to a bar with 2 friends- 1 man and 1 woman, for drinks.
My bf got angry and said he didn’t want a gf who went to bars with other men. Or really bars at all. Too far? Maybe but I accepted and stopped doing the bar thing and hanging out with male friends.
Well today he gets home from work and tells me a guy there wants him to go hit golf balls and then go to a local bar for drinks after work. Immediately I got pissed because what happened to the no bars? His reasoning is he’s going with a guy vs I went with a guy and a girl. I don’t see how it matters as in both instances you’re around men and women drinking and usually looking for potential hookups.
He doesn’t get why I’m angry. I don’t get how he doesn’t see the hypocrisy. Yes, both sides should be allowed to do what they want- but I believe rules are for both parties.
