I’m interested in a coworker (I’m 30, he’s 26). I recently texted him this past Thursday saying that if he ever wants to hang out just the two of us outside of work, I’m open to it. We usually only see each other about once a month at group work hangouts, and I’ve really enjoyed those, but I’ve been wanting more one-on-one time with him.
He responded saying, yeah sounds good. I’m open whenever, just let me know when you want to hang out.
It’s now been about four days and I know it’s too soon. But he doesn’t text me…I’m not sure if that’s because we’re coworkers or if he’s just not someone who initiates over text. I’m trying not to overthink it or come off as desperate, especially with the whole “women shouldn’t chase” idea I keep hearing.
I’m wondering if I should wait about a week to see if he reaches out, and if he doesn’t, I could follow up and suggest something.
I guess I’m just trying to figure out the best approach here how to show interest without overdoing it, and whether his lack of texting means anything or not.
