I only ask because I’ve been with my girlfriend for 5 years, and I always call her “Dear” or “Mi Amor”… especially when I’ve really messed up and I’m trying to kiss up to her.

Well, my daughter, who’s 18, doesn’t understand why I do that. According to her, it’s “old fashioned,” and the younger generation doesn’t really do that anymore.

Honestly, I don’t believe that. I’ve heard plenty of younger couples call each other “Babe,” “Hun,” or other little nicknames that are meaningful to them.
