’m a 30F and I’ve been feeling pretty frustrated with modern dating lately.
Most of the men I meet fall into a few patterns:
- either they are only interested in casual/flirty interactions with no real emotional investment
- or they seem very low effort, inconsistent, and not looking for anything serious
- or they want commitment quickly but lack emotional maturity, lifestyle balance, or compatibility
I’m looking for a stable, healthy relationship — something where there is mutual effort, emotional availability, and consistency.
I have met a few men who seemed more serious, but there were still major compatibility issues (lifestyle, emotional maturity, lack of direction, etc.), so it didn’t work out.
At this point I’m starting to wonder:
Is it actually realistic to find emotionally mature, consistent men in the dating pool today, or am I just being too selective / unlucky?
Would love honest perspectives from others who’ve experienced similar frustration.
