Okay I need outside opinions because I’m genuinely confused.
There’s this guy I was close friends with. We both genuinely cared about each other, but recently things started getting confusing. He would act cold and distant some days, and then suddenly warm and normal other days. At the same time, he would ignore me for days, but act completely fine with others. I tried not to overthink it.
The issue is he started assuming my posts/lyrics were about him or about someone I like. I honestly just post songs and lyrics I enjoy—sometimes emotional, sometimes random, nothing directed at anyone.
Whenever I posted something, his behavior would suddenly change. He’d become cold or distant like he was reading hidden meanings into everything, but he never directly communicated what was bothering him.
Now he’s unfollowed me and removed me from his followers, which honestly hurt because from my perspective he was already distancing himself while still acting normal elsewhere.
I’m just confused because:
if he didn’t care, why react strongly?
if he was bothered, why not communicate directly?
and why are my lyrics/posts being treated like they’re aimed at someone when they’re not?
I just want unbiased opinions because this whole thing has been really emotionally confusing.

Confusing friendship situation where a close friend started misinterpreting my posts/lyrics as being about him or someone else. He became inconsistent (sometimes warm, sometimes cold). Ignored me for days and i tried to reach him multiple times to clear misunderstandings but he didn't respond and eventually unfollowed me. I'm just looking for outside opinions on what this situation looks like from a neutral perspective.
