I’ve known my friend for three years. During the first two years, we used to hang out a lot — basically every weekend. We’d go out, go to parties, city things like that. But since 2025, everything has changed, ever since she got a boyfriend. She practically never initiates meeting up anymore, and whenever I suggest something, she turns me down.
A year ago, I also moved out of Poland for a year, but I came back every three months, and every time I suggested meeting up, she refused. The last time we met was in June last year, and she only found time to see me again in December, even though I was in Poland three times during that period.
This April, I moved back permanently to the city where she also lives, and the last time we met was a 2 weeks ago. Honestly, I got the feeling she only met up with me out of pity 10000%!! I also invited her to my new apartment three or four times, and she refused every time.
A week ago, when she turned me down again, she said I could come to her birthday this Friday, but she will text me later but even one or two days before it, she didnt texted me or invited me. Today i saw photo on instastory from her birthday with others. Always she says like, “Unfortunately we can’t, but we’ll figure something out another time,” but then she never actually suggests anything later.
I want add also I have a husband too, but I still know how to maintain that balance:)
I really regret that I kept begging for those meetups when clearly she didn’t really care. From now on, I’m cutting off all contact with her. I doubt she’ll even not text me first anyway, but if she does, I don’t want anything to do with her anymore.
