So I’ve 23F made a previous post about this a few weeks ago, but essentially, there’s a guy on my soccer team (adult team) that I think is cute. One day he randomly introduced himself to me since we hadn’t spoken basically the entire seasons since we didn’t know each other.
Same night he introduced himself, after the game the whole team went out for drinks and since I forgot my I.D, he paid for my drink, got a chair for me to sit next to him, and was basically sharing his drink with me when I asked how it tasted. He didn’t ask for my number and I was too chicken to give him mine since I felt like maybe he was just being nice. The plot has developed, but downward I fear lol.
Now I see him every week for games since a new season started, but he’s kind if more focused on talking with his guy friends. He’ll say what’s up to them at the beginning, but won’t really say anything to me. Eventually, either I’ll mention something he’s said previously (like seeing how an injury of his is healing) or he’ll pass the ball to me and kind of play footsies passing it, tell jokes about how I forgot my I.D, how I’m a traitor for playing on another team, etc.
Last time, we saw me each other we walked back to our cars together and all that happened was he told me about an event he was going to that made him feel weird since his ex might be there (second time he’s mentioned his ex in convo to me).
At this point, I can’t tell if he’s interested or just wants to be friends/acquaintances. I did like him a lot in the beginning of the season, but I’m starting to become more neutral and eventually I feel like my interest will go away entirely. I personally won’t ask anyone out unless I have clear signs, interest is there and I’m not feeling there is. After all, I wouldn’t want to make him uncomfortable on the team if it were to go south.
Should I go ahead and give up on this and move on?
