Hello! My boyfriend and I both met when we were both 15. This year we both are turning 20, and we have been dating for the past 4 years. We have had our ups and downs like any other normal relationship but how can I know that he’s the one for me? For the past year, I have been noticing small things that are giving me doubts about him. For example, since the beginning, his mom has never liked me for whatever reason. She’s always commenting on how I look, my weight and other things. At the beginning of the relationship, I was on the chubbier side. I have lost 40 pounds since then. But she’s always mentioning it, and my boyfriend knows that it bothers me when she comments on my past weight. He has never said anything to her, he has never defended me. Which has caused a lot of fights between him and I. He always tells me that next time he’ll say something to his mom, he’s been saying that for the past 4 years. Which I’m getting tired of him never defending me. Also, he barely calls me by my name, and I have asked him why he doesn’t call me by my name. To which he said that he doesn’t like it because when he was younger, his parents would fight and say each others name. Which honestly doesn’t seem much of a reason. I have told him that I would like it if he called me by my name instead of his one nickname that he calls me. He hasn’t done it yet. Another thing is, whenever we have the slightest argument, he always cries. Which is totally fine, since crying is normal but he does it for every argument. I can’t tell him or express my feelings to him because he’s crying. We can never talk about the argument. Another thing is that he doesn’t flirt with me anymore; at first he would but he just stopped doing it. I try to flirt with him, but he never continues it.
