I recently posted on a car forum about some niggles with my wife's Fiat.
I received a response from a USA forum member that sort of suggested that the word "niggle" could be misinterpreted.
So my question is, do Americans use the word "niggle" to describe small, annoying, persistent problems, or do they avoid this word due to its vaguely similar phonetics to the "n word"?
The possibility of some confusion between these two words has never crossed my mind before.
