Do you remember the Dairy Diaries or have experience of yourself or a family member writing in them?

My grandmother has left behind a series of dairy diaries (which are diaries delivered by the milkman) from 1982-2013. I wonder how popular these were, what people used them for or if anyone still had any old ones.
