I (22F) told my bf (22M) that I consider him my best friend. Unfortunately he told me that he doesn't have a best friend and that all his good friends are on equal levels with me. I think it's good that he's honest but it's made me not want to be so close to him. I'm not sure I can forget this easily. He also said that he thinks we haven't been dating for long enough, but we have been dating for 4 months and have seen each other a lot. On top of that he declares he loves me and so I think it contradicts this. But personally I think your partner is not just a lover but your best friend in one. It upset me that this is not reciprocal. Any advice?
