My boyfriend and I have been together for five years. We are extremely ready to take the next step, but in this economy, it’s extremely hard!
I graduate from college this semester, and my boyfriend does next semester as well. We want to get a savings and eventually move into an apartment.
Since we’ve been together for so long, we really crave living together. His family is Mexican and having more family in one house is not frowned upon. His parents are very inviting to the idea.
Should we marry and live together with his parents while we save money? Or should we just wait another year or so? Apartments in our part of California are $2k/mo, and right now we both are trying to work out of our $20/hr jobs.
~His parents wouldn’t charge for rent, we would just pay for groceries. My boyfriend currently lives with them and they are retired. His parents and I get along very well.~
