My female coworker (both 37) and I have worked together 6 months at the same level. I moved to a different team 2 months ago but still help her project. Before mid-April we barely talked. Since then we’ve been on video calls every single workday, averaging 3-4 hours daily with cameras on — roughly 60-70+ hours total.

Some context about her: Ukrainian-Russian origin, moved to Canada 2 years ago, reserved/closed book personality, workaholic, limited social life (mentions one male friend occasionally). She’s been slowly opening up to me.

Things that stand out:
• I check if she ate, she tells me about her English classes, we have inside jokes, laughed so hard my stomach hurt
• She said “it’s good that you care for me” unprompted
• Responds to my Slack messages within a minute almost always
• Has our private video link bookmarked with my name (saw when she shared screen)
• Started asking about my home — my chair, my fan, noticed my bed changed
• Joins the video call the instant I message her
• Always publicly acknowledges my help at work
• Smiled at goodbyes even when working overtime

Occasionally she had mood swings and ended the call rather abruptly. But hasn’t happened all last week.

Additional context: I’m separated with a young son. She knows this and hasn’t pulled back.
Does she like me or is she just being friendly? Genuinely can’t tell.
