I'm 40/F, SO 47/M (were together 16yrs, divorced, and got back together in 2023) and we live together on my family and I's property in a place I paid for. I make significantly less than him $40k a year as I only work part time from home.

He makes over $100k a year, has no car payment, and yet I'm paying over ½ of the bills, groceries, cost of living expenses, etc.

How much of the bills/expenses should he be paying if I make less than ½ of what he does?

Please keep in mind when I say bills and cost of living that does not include my own individual bills such as my car insurance or money I personally spend as I keep that seperate and wouldn't expect him to pay for my expenses

However I do think it's unfair to expect me to pay over ½ of the bills, groceries, and shared expenses when he makes over double what I make!

He gives me $800 a month and while my home is paid for, I do pay $400 a month which goes towards property taxes.

What is fair when it comes to sharing expenses?
