To clarify my intentions right off the bat: I am a 23yo gay guy, and I honestly miss having straight friends. I used to have a tight circle of straight guys back in middle school, but when I came out, I was kind of ostracized. Since then, my friend groups have naturally become entirely women and other LGBTQ+ people.
My last frame of reference for straight male friendships is middle school, where we just goofed off and talked about nothing super meaningful. Now that I’m older and navigating adulthood and starting my career, my current friendships involve a lot more deep talks. I’m genuinely curious: does that dynamic change for straight guys once you hit your 20s too? Do you guys start opening up more to each other, or what are the common themes when you hang out nowadays?
