How much can a person ACTUALLY change?

Do you think you can always become the person you want to be? Or that you need to spend your formative years shaping yourself into that person, or you'll always be a step off?

I read somewhere that naturally charismatic people acquire that skill around ages 10 to 12. It tracks with how my old friends have grown up, it makes sense. But there comes a point when you stop becoming that sponge and become a full-fledged person. And for us, who's experiences age 10-12 were more of the "grey rock and cower" variety, not a very likeable person.

Just makes you wonder how much is actually learnable vs how much will you just be fighting your nature
