So I’ve noticed this a lot in social settings. In large social groups or groups of friends, there are always some people that are closer than others.

A lot of the time, but not always, these people lead the group, make most ofthe decisions, and if theres ever a dispute or issue they side with each other.

So my question is: how do you tell who that is? Sometimes I feel like it’s obvious, but other times it’s not always especially if you’re new to a situation.

Are people just extra cautious in new social groups? Do you just wait and see who sides with who, or who spends the most time together? Is there ways to ask?
