Not talking about useless degrees or dead-end jobs. I mean:
\* High-demand trades (electrician, HVAC, welding, lineman, etc.)
VS
\* High-demand degrees (engineering, nursing, accounting, cybersecurity, etc.)
Trades seem to offer:
\* Less debt
\* Faster income
\* Strong demand
\* Opportunity to start a business
But marketable degrees can offer:
\* Higher long-term ceiling
\* Less wear on the body
\* More remote/work-from-home options
\* Better career flexibility
It feels like the REAL answer is:
“Pick something in demand and avoid massive debt.”
But I’m curious what people here actually think.
If you could restart in 2026:
\* Would you choose a trade or a degree?
\* Which careers are ACTUALLY paying well right now?
\* Any regrets?
\* Which path has the better long-term future?
