I recently had a conversation that put me in a weird headspace.
The definition of INTENTION- A determination to act in a certain way.
If I receive a compliment on something it often feels wrong to accept it at full value. I almost instantly reject the compliment and make a list as to why I can’t accept it. It puts weird energy in the room.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I think it’s because I’m often not fully IN the project/ situation (whatever it may be). So through my actions, my INTENTIONS aren’t actually pure.
Also someone’s direct intention (for example; to be positive or kind) could give an indirect result of an unexpected opportunity. I think that’s when I really decouple and find the flaws/ differences, and disqualify myself.
Some things I admit I do need to simply step up and give 100%. But other tasks don’t really require full attention/ energy… do I still deserve credit?
If so why does it feel so wrong?
