I've gone from semi-checked out of my corporate Director job, but actively trying to find a way to make me care again, to fully burnt out and ready to leave due to multiple events that have taken place in the last couple of months. I've been in corporate IT for over 20 years, so burn out itself sadly isn't a new feeling for me. But, what I've learned is that being burnt out as a mid-level IC is a totally different ballgame than being burnt out in my current role, and I was not prepared for it to kick my ass the way it has.

My biggest issue is by the time I get home, I'm so mentally and emotionally exhausted that I have no energy left to clock in for a Part-time job as a Job Searcher. I'll take a look at LinkedIn or other sites for like 10-15minutes every couple of weeks, but I can't bring myself to actually lock in.

Those of you who have gone through burn out at a high level, how'd you push past the exhaustion to get into job hunt mode? Did you just brute force it?

Also, if anyone is currently going through professional burn out, feel free to use the comments to vent.
